ADH CONSULTING SERVICES
Project Governance & Execution Consulting
A project list does not establish which work matters most or who can resolve a tradeoff. ADH helps organizations connect priorities to a practical system for initiating, reviewing, and following through on projects.
Discuss your priorities ↗When this work may help
- Projects start without an agreed owner or definition of completion.
- Leadership meetings describe status but leave important choices unresolved.
- Several initiatives compete for the same people without a shared priority decision.
How much governance does a small organization need?
Enough to make ownership, priorities, decisions, and escalation clear. Scale the process to the work and its consequences. A simple shared register and review routine may be an appropriate starting point; the scope should be agreed rather than assumed.
A practical engagement approach
Define intake and ownership
Agree what qualifies as a project, what information is needed to start, and who approves the commitment. Distinguish sponsor, delivery owner, and decision authority.
Build a decision-focused review
Define reporting that highlights milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions needed, and requested intervention. Keep actions and decisions distinct.
Establish follow-through
Record approved choices, assign resulting work, and review completion. Use an escalation path that identifies the specific decision required and the authorized owner.
Possible deliverables
The final scope, deliverables, responsibilities, and timing are agreed for the engagement.
- Project intake and prioritization criteria
- Governance roles and review cadence
- Decision, action, and escalation templates
An illustrative starting point
Illustrative situation: a system rollout is delayed because leaders have not chosen between a pilot and a single launch. A governance review could identify the authorized decision owner, needed-by date, options, assumptions, and resulting actions. This is a hypothetical example without claimed results.
